Joinsda launches global community recycling initiatives in 2025, extending its sustainability commitment beyond manufacturing to empower local communities. These programs collect scrap aluminum, divert waste from landfills, and fund green projects — aligning with the company’s 2035 carbon-neutral goal.
In Southeast Asia, the “Aluminum for Schools” program partners with Thai and Vietnamese communities: residents donate scrap aluminum (window frames, old fences), and Joinsda processes it into recycled material. For every ton collected, the company funds solar panel installations in local schools. To date, 12 schools in Bangkok have benefited from this initiative, reducing their reliance on grid electricity.
In Brazil, Joinsda collaborates with municipal governments to host monthly “Recycling Fairs” in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Attendees drop off aluminum scrap and receive discounts on Joinsda products (e.g., 10% off a pergola for 50kg of scrap). The fairs also include workshops on aluminum recycling, attended by over 5,000 residents in Q1 2025.
In Kenya, the company supports women-led recycling cooperatives by providing equipment (crushers, sorting tools) and buying scrap at above-market rates. This has created 30+ jobs in Nairobi’s informal settlements, with the recycled aluminum used in Joinsda’s African-market fence posts (News 5).
“Community participation is key to a circular economy,” said the sustainability director. These initiatives have diverted 3,000 tons of aluminum from landfills in 2025 alone, with plans to scale to 10,000 tons by 2026.
